HPV Campaign

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, District Health Officer Islamabad, invited to speak as Guest Speaker at the National General Assembly of the Medical Students Association of Pakistan (MSAP) at Shifa College of Medicine.

With participation from students representing 400+ medical colleges across Pakistan, Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool highlighted the crucial role of medical students as HPV Champions, inspiring them to mobilize schools and communities for the upcoming HPV vaccination campaign. 💉

She was presented with a Shield of Appreciation by MSAP & Dr. Gulshan Ara, Head of Obstetrics & Gynecology, in recognition of her unwavering commitment to making Islamabad’s HPV vaccination drive a resounding success.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       District Health Officer Islamabad, participated in the CSO Capacity Building Workshop on HPV Vaccine & Routine Immunisation organized by FDI with support from Jhpiego, UNICEF & WHO.

DHO highlighted the ,importance of CSO efforts in enhancing vaccination coverage and improving community health.

District Health Office Islamabad organized an orientation session for health beat reporters and prominent journalists to share detailed insights on the HPV vaccine and the upcoming vaccination campaign.

DHO Islamabad addressed journalists’ queries regarding the vaccine’s safety, efficacy, and overall importance. The session also highlighted the vital role of the media in raising public awareness. Journalists were urged to share accurate, evidence-based, and positive information so the right message reaches the community.

The District Health Office Islamabad extends its sincere appreciation to all journalists for their valuable participation and continued support, which will be instrumental in the success of future public health campaigns.

Today, Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal launched the National HPV Vaccination Campaign to prevent cervical cancer. He urged parents to vaccinate their daughters with the safe and effective HPV vaccine, highlighting its vital role in protection and dismissing any rumors.In Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), the campaign was inaugurated symbolically as District Health Officer, Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, vaccinated her own daughter, marking the official start of the campaign in the Capital.    The campaign will run from 15–27 September 2025, targeting girls aged 9–14 years. Our teams will be available in schools, communities, and nearby healthcare centers to provide free HPV vaccination. The vaccine is safe, effective, and most protective when administered at this age.
