Establishment of CHC at Bari Imam in ICT Islamabad

A Community Health Center (CHC) is a healthcare facility that provides more comprehensive services than a BHU, including outpatient care, minor emergency services, maternal and child health, and preventive care. CHCs are designed to serve larger populations, often bridging primary and secondary care in rural and semi-urban areas.

A project initiated by the Ministry of Health   to enhance rural health facilities and establish a Community Health Center (CHC) at Bari Imam, Islamabad, approved by the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) in 2021-22. The project included upgrading rural health units, setting up 494 new positions, and establishing CHCs equipped with specialized medical services (e.g., general surgery, pediatrics, gynecology) and family planning.
