World Population Day

The celebration of World Population Day was organized by the District Health Office Islamabad in collaboration with Green Star Social Marketing, with a walk planned at F-9 Park. The event was attended by a diverse group of participants, including District Health Officer Islamabad, Dr. Muhammad Zaeem Zia, Additional DHO Dr. Rashida, City Manager Green Star Islamabad Mrs. Aliya Fahad, Lady Health Workers, Lady Health Visitors, and many others, who joined despite the heavy rain.

During the event, Dr. Zaeem Zia highlighted that “population is a valuable asset but can become a liability if its potential is not fully utilized, stressing that population growth is one of Pakistan’s biggest challenges and requires immediate and focused attention.” He further emphasized the need to reduce the fertility rate and invest in the nation’s youth. Mrs. Aliya Fahad conveyed her appreciation to the DHO Islamabad for their support and their efforts to highlight the importance of family planning, and she called for a review of the business model to ensure that women in Pakistan who wish to access family planning commodities are able to do so.

                                     World Population Day 2025

As part of the World Population Day 2025 campaign, the District Health Office Islamabad, in collaboration with TCI and Greenstar, organized a series of community awareness events from July 14 to 16, conducted as part of the Healthy Baby, Healthy Family initiative.

The concluding session held today at FWC I-10, where Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, District Health Officer, highlighted the importance of maternal and child health, routine immunization, & family planning. Appreciation gifts distributed to mothers and fully vaccinated children. The District Health Officer acknowledged valuable support of TCI & Greenstar in advancing public health and family wellbeing.
