On March 8th, the Directorate of Health Services, in collaboration with the District Health Office Islamabad Capital Territory (DHO-ICT), organized a special event to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme “Empowering Women for a Healthier Future.” The highlight of the event was a certificate distribution ceremony to honor the contributions of the female polio workforce involved in the Polio Eradication Initiative Program in Islamabad. Certificates were presented by distinguished guests, including the DC Islamabad, Chief Commissioner MCI, DHO ICT, ADHO ICT, Director DHS, EPI Focal Person, and the Area Coordinator from WHO, in recognition of the workforce’s dedication to public health. The event also featured a short awareness walk, emphasizing the vital role of women in public health initiatives. The celebration underscored the DHO’s commitment to empowering women and appreciating their invaluable contributions to creating healthier communities.
