🌟 Nationwide Launch of the Measles & Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign – Islamabad 🌟
The national Measles & Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign was inaugurated at Community Health Centre (CHC) Bari Imam, Islamabad, organized by the District Health Office Islamabad and the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI), in collaboration with UNICEF and in partnership with WHO, Gavi, the Gates Foundation, and other supporting organizations.
On the first day of the Measles & Rubella vaccination campaign in Islamabad, vaccination for children aged 6 months to 5 years continued actively at health centers, educational institutions, and community points, with teams providing safe MR vaccines along with polio drops.
The National Measles and Rubella Immunization Campaign will be conducted from 17 to 29 November 2025 across Pakistan. The campaign aims to protect all children aged 6 months to 5 years from measles (khusra) and rubella, two highly contagious viral diseases that can cause serious complications.
During this period, parents are urged to take their children to the nearest health centers, outreach sites, vaccination centers, or schools to receive the free measles and rubella vaccine. The campaign emphasizes the importance of routine immunization and aims to prevent future outbreaks by ensuring that every eligible child is vaccinated.

MR campaign training of social mobilizers at RHC Bhara kahu Islamabad
District Health Officer Islamabad met with the CEO of CHIP and team to review ongoing MR vaccination activities through Mobile Service Unit (MSU) camps after the completion of the campaign.
The meeting focused on strengthening outreach and ensuring continued access to vaccination services across Islamabad.
As part of the National Measles-Rubella Preventive Campaign 2025, a Skilled Person Training was successfully conducted on 3rd November 2025 across all Union Councils of ICT and CDA, Islamabad.
This important activity brought together all first-level supervisors and their teams to enhance their skills and ensure the effective implementation of campaign activities — reinforcing our shared commitment to stronger immunity and a healthier community.
