December 2019
Federal Government Approval
The transition initiated with official executive clearance from the Federal Government. This vital legislative step provided the legal framework necessary to combine population welfare goals with the mainstream healthcare distribution systems.
January 2020
Merger of District Population Welfare Office with DHO ICT
A major administrative milestone. The physical and operational integration consolidated clinical assets and personnel from the District Population Welfare Office directly into the District Health Office (DHO) of the Islamabad Capital Territory, resolving decades of service fragmentation.
September 2020
Jhpiego/UNFPA Support Begins
To scale capability, global developmental partners UNFPA and Jhpiego initiated formal technical support. This partnership brought international evidence-based training, logistical management systems, and quality standards to the integrated local teams.
October 2020
Need Assessment at 5 Health Facilities
On-ground research and evaluations were conducted at five primary health centers. The detailed assessment identified critical service delivery gaps, structural supply chain limitations, and facility readiness parameters required to standardise reproductive healthcare.
