It is honor for me to connect with the readers and stakeholders through this platform, highlighting the ongoing efforts of the District Health Office (DHO) in strengthening public health services at the grassroots level. The DHO remains fully committed to safeguarding the health and well-being of the community, with a special focus on vulnerable populations, particularly children and women. Over time, it has made notable progress through a wide range of preventive and responsive health interventions. While routine immunization remains a key priority under national programs, our efforts extend across multiple public health domains. Polio eradication activities continue with renewed commitment in alignment with national strategies, ensuring that every child is reached, even in the most hard-to-reach areas. In addition, measles and HPV vaccination campaign are being implemented to strengthen protection against vaccine-preventable diseases and improve long-term health outcomes.

Addressing seasonal and emerging health threats is another critical area of focus. DHO’s, dengue surveillance and response activities have been significantly enhanced through improved monitoring systems, timely reporting, and coordinated field interventions. These efforts aim to ensure early detection and effective control of outbreaks within the district. The healthcare system is being transformed through digitalization, with Telemedicine as a key component. This digital approach connects patients with healthcare providers through virtual consultations at various health facilities, improving access to care. It is especially benefiting remote and underserved communities by reducing geographical and logistical barriers and ensuring more timely and efficient healthcare delivery.

The DHO is committed to building a resilient, accessible, and people-centered healthcare system in line with Primary Health Care (PHC) and Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Ongoing efforts in digitalization, outreach expansion, and community engagement continue to improve health outcomes across the district. I appreciate the efforts of the whole team of DHO and the support of our partners. I also commend our dedicated healthcare workforce, especially vaccinators and field teams, whose continuous efforts ensure the delivery of essential services to all communities.
